Project Manager - Healthcare Construction

AlphaHireNashville, TN
Onsite

About The Position

We are hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead healthcare and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. We are specifically looking for someone with direct experience managing hospital renovations, medical facilities, or construction inside occupied healthcare environments. The right candidate understands infection-control requirements, project phasing, shutdown coordination, temporary barriers, and the communication required when working around active patients, clinical staff, and ongoing facility operations. This is a full project-ownership role—not a Project Engineer or support position. You will be accountable for project financials, subcontractor performance, schedule, procurement, client communication, and successful delivery across multiple active projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Project Manager experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Direct healthcare construction experience required
  • Experience managing renovations inside occupied hospitals, medical facilities, or active clinical environments
  • Understanding of ICRA protocols, infection-control procedures, project phasing, temporary barriers, shutdowns, and healthcare facility coordination
  • Strong experience with project budgeting, cost forecasting, subcontract administration, procurement, scheduling, and change management
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects from startup through closeout
  • Strong client communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites approximately twice per month, including overnight travel when required

Responsibilities

  • Manage healthcare and commercial projects from preconstruction, buyout, and mobilization through completion and closeout
  • Maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, procurement plans, contracts, billing, and change orders
  • Coordinate Superintendents, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and healthcare facility representatives
  • Lead owner and subcontractor meetings while maintaining accurate reporting, documentation, and follow-up
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project changes to identify cost, schedule, and execution risks
  • Visit project sites to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support field leadership
  • Maintain accountability for safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and client satisfaction

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Health insurance and benefits package
  • Retirement plan options
  • Paid time off
  • Additional company-sponsored benefits
