Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related Engineering Field (preferably Mechanical or Electrical), or a minimum of 5 years of field experience in lieu of a degree.
  • HVAC and/or Industrial system knowledge.
  • Understanding of the operation of boilers, chillers, air-handling units, constant vs. variable volume systems, and other HVAC equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and technical writing.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience managing people and project financial budgets.
  • Ability to take aggressive criticism.
  • Ability to prioritize and deal with many emergencies at once.
  • Positive attitude and level-headed approach.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Consistent and accurate execution of policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with coworkers and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for all job-related issues during construction and through the warranty period, finding the best solution based on total job knowledge and estimate limits.
  • Communicate promptly with customers, contractors, and employees, and follow up on all project details.
  • Read and understand specifications and construction blueprint drawings for digital, pneumatic, and electric control systems.
  • Manage the field installation and project coordination of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide leadership to field installers to improve competency and independence.
  • Recognize change order opportunities and issues, alerting relevant parties for change requests.
  • Gather information for proposed change orders, submit to sales/estimating for pricing, and follow up to award and book.
  • Conduct regular field visits to stay familiar with projects and provide support to Area Supervisors and Field Technicians.
  • Attend on-site job meetings to represent CTI and discuss project-related matters.
  • Stay up to date with field safety issues and disseminate information as required.
  • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Meet weekly with the Division Manager to discuss project management, design, contractor issues, job costs, standardization, training, safety, and other job-related matters.
  • Work with teams on manpower requests and create weekly work schedules for field installers.
  • Interact with customers and contractors daily.
  • Attend in-house and scheduled training for new technology and standards.
  • Provide the Operations Team with ideas for standardization and efficient designs.
  • Manage weekly job costing and other project financials for assigned projects.
