About The Position

STV is seeking a Project Manager for its CM/PM group in the Tacoma, WA area. The ideal candidate will have experience working on public works, corrections/prisons/jails, or courthouses. This role involves overseeing Capital Program Management and Owner's Representative tasks, acting on behalf of the owner and stakeholders. The Project Manager will be a key member of a team executing projects and programs, safeguarding the owner's interests by overseeing design experts and contractors. This position collaborates with senior management to guide projects through all lifecycle stages, including budgeting, planning, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, move management planning, and close-out services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large scale capital projects.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels internally and externally.
  • Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise.
  • Knowledge and ability to supervise people including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development.
  • High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management software and applications.
  • Ability to forecast project challenges and define solutions to maintain compliance with safety protocols, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Understanding of the unique needs of the judiciary and correctional facility construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the design, development, and construction of facilities related to the justice and correction industries.
  • Assisting Senior Managers in leading the project team, goal setting, developing policies and procedures, and mentoring team members.
  • Managing staff, project financials, and schedules.
  • Carrying out assigned duties to achieve successful project/program completion.
  • Leading cross-functional projects and initiatives with demanding resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Monitoring design and construction activities to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and corporate quality standards.
  • Defining and assigning project responsibilities to the Assistant Project Manager and Team.
  • Mentoring team members to grow skill sets and foster a high-performing project team.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and developing project financials, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates.
  • Reviewing purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
  • Forecasting, identifying, and addressing areas of potential liabilities and risks.
  • Developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Maintaining client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships.
  • Managing conflict resolution.
  • Communicating complex ideas, anticipating potential concerns, and persuading others, including executive leadership, to adopt positions that facilitate project success.
  • Assisting in the evaluation, development, and selection of standards, protocols, policies, and procedures to facilitate project success.
  • Providing guidance, direction, and instruction to less experienced team members and colleagues.
