About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Project Manager to join its Building & Construction team in Farmingdale, New York. The role manages large-scale private projects and related administrative work, including invoicing, data entry, scheduling, customer service, and report management. The Project Manager supports project assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services and helps ensure that field testing and inspections are properly scheduled and completed.

Requirements

High school diploma.
At least 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing and/or project management.
Understanding of the Construction Materials Testing business.
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project specifications.
Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills, and solid interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Ability to lead and supervise others.
Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
PMP certification.
At least 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing project management.

Responsibilities

Conduct and attend project meetings, maintain client relationships, and develop new project opportunities.
Review project setup, prepare advanced proposals for internal and external review, and follow up.
Complete contract review and negotiation.
Monitor project budgets and initiate change orders.
Review, prepare, and submit invoices.
Review, prepare, and submit test reports.
Perform project closeout duties.
Ensure field testing and inspections are scheduled and performed correctly, and keep clients informed of progress.
Supervise and support field and/or laboratory personnel.
Help with equipment inventory, issues, and replacement.
Assist with other laboratory, field, and administrative duties as needed.
