About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Project Manager to join its Building & Construction team in Farmingdale, New York. The role manages large-scale private projects and includes invoicing, data entry, scheduling, customer service, report management, and other administrative functions as needed. The Building & Construction division provides assurance, testing, inspection, consulting, and building science services across architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing and/or project management.
• Understanding of the Construction Materials Testing business.
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project specifications.
• Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills, plus solid interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
• Ability to lead and supervise others.
• Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• PMP certification.
• At least 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing project management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and attend project meetings, maintain client relationships, and develop new project opportunities.
• Review project setup, prepare advanced proposals for internal and external review, and follow up.
• Complete contract review and negotiation.
• Monitor project budgets and initiate change orders.
• Review, prepare, and submit invoices.
• Review, prepare, and submit test reports.
• Perform project closeout duties.
• Ensure field testing and inspections are correctly scheduled and performed, and keep clients informed of progress.
• Supervise and support field and/or laboratory personnel.
• Help with equipment inventory, issues, and replacement.
• Assist with other laboratory, field, and administrative duties as needed.
