About The Position

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Manager to join their Consulting group. This role involves leading and executing work for power generation projects, including development, financing, and execution. The position supports the growth of the consulting group, which offers services such as technical and financial due diligence, asset transaction support, project development, independent engineering, owner's engineering, and long-term planning. The role requires significant interaction with power project developers, utilities, investors, legal advisors, and financial institutions. The position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering (other engineering disciplines or finance/economics may be considered)
  • 15 or more years of experience in the power industry
  • Owner’s engineer, independent engineer, and/or design engineer experience for development and execution of power generation
  • Experience managing teams of engineers
  • Experience and technical knowledge in multiple power generation technologies – solar, battery energy storage, wind, and thermal
  • Experience performing feasibility studies for power projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long-term power supply and transmission planning projects
  • Experience in project finance or financial modeling of power projects
  • Experience with project contracts such as power purchase agreements, asset transfer agreements, and EPC contracts
  • Prior experience in a consulting role

Responsibilities

  • Develop consulting project execution plan to meet client’s needs
  • Reviewing deliverables such as reports and studies
  • Lead project team by providing clear instruction including technical approaches
  • Manage hours and work performed to budget and scope
  • Develop staff expertise through training and mentoring
  • Prepare proposals for consulting project opportunities
  • Supporting multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring a high quality standard is met
  • Traveling occasionally to visit project locations and client offices.
