About The Position

We are seeking a Project Manager to support the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Gulf of America Region (GOAR) in delivering coordinated project management services across a range of technical and program support activities in New Orleans, LA. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the Government and is responsible for planning, execution, oversight, and successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects aligned to BOEM’s mission and strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of information technology experience, including at least three (3) years in a management or supervisory capacity and at least three (3) years of experience in the functional area of the project, such as application development, data management, digitization, or technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting project management activities within an information technology environment, including involvement in project planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Experience serving as a primary point of contact for customers or stakeholders and supporting the development and delivery of project-related communications and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear and professional documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or in the project’s functional area.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of the Interior (DOI) Public Trust.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting Federal agencies, particularly within the Department of the Interior or BOEM.
  • Experience working across multiple functional domains, including application development, data management, records digitization, or technical publication support.
  • Experience supporting executive-level stakeholders and facilitating senior-level meetings.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Planner, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical, administrative, and operational leadership for assigned projects and task areas, ensuring alignment with BOEM priorities and program objectives.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the Government, including coordination with the COR, technical leads, and stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
  • Plans, develops, and maintains project schedules, deliverables, and budgets to support effective execution and timely completion of work.
  • Oversees project execution across multiple task areas, including application development, data management, digitization, and technical publication support.
  • Manages and supervises assigned staff, including task prioritization, workload distribution, and overall team coordination.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination across project teams, subject matter experts, and program offices to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Prepares and delivers status reports, briefings, meeting summaries, and other project documentation to support transparency and decision-making.
  • Identifies project risks and issues and takes appropriate corrective actions to maintain performance and delivery expectations.
  • Supports and facilitates meetings, including agenda development, logistics coordination, documentation of discussions, and tracking of action items.
  • Manages multiple task teams simultaneously in support of project objectives and may serve in a technical capacity as needed.
