By merging our fields of expertise, we aim to become a fully integrated precision medicine company. Summary of Position Fulgent Genetics Project Manager oversees corporate development projects. They are responsible for coordinating with managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of a project while maintaining project requirements, deadlines, schedules, and budgets. The Project Manager delegates work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related fields of studies.
  • 2+ years’ experience in project management.
  • 2+ years’ experience in projects of various sizes and seeing them through to completion.
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite.
  • Understands HIPAA, Privacy, Corporate Compliance policy and all related regulations.
  • Strong financial and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with no supervision.
  • Ability to direct cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, accountable for managing his/her own time.
  • Goal oriented, fast learner with the ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving market.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree is a plus.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAMP, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develops project plans and manage project schedules, which align with business goals.
  • Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manages project timelines, coordinates resource allocation and personnel assignment.
  • Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
  • Meets with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.
  • Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
  • Submits project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Prepares weekly project status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information for department management approval and stakeholders, if applicable, to ensure effective operations of the PMO.
  • Establishes effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitates change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • May assist in everyday business functions such as account management and client support.
  • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
  • Communicates and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
  • Reviews and updates existing department standard operating procedures and create new procedures if identify gaps where documented procedures are not available.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives with the team to ensure the department strives for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
