About The Position

With two studios bookending the West Coast in Seattle and San Diego, our work spans a wide range of project types including houses and cabins, mixed-use multifamily developments, corporate office buildings and towers, laboratories, K-12 schools, higher education buildings, city halls, community centers, libraries, fire stations, airports, international border crossings, and embassies.

Requirements

  • A professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • 10-20 years of post-graduate architectural experience.
  • Project Manager for medium to large multidisciplinary teams on successful projects of significant complexity, including experience managing scope, schedules, staffing, contracts, and quality management.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of our practice areas.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated an ability to make team members better through their mentorship, personal encouragement, and knowledge sharing.
  • A refined design sensibility with the capacity to oversee the production of compelling presentations, graphics, diagrams and renderings.
  • A high level of engagement with their work and a deep curiosity about its relationship to broader issues, including a strong desire to contribute to the intellectual capital of our practice.
  • A commitment and interest in pushing new design frontiers at the intersection of social equity and environmental sustainability.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally obtained licensure in one or more jurisdictions.
  • Experience in Sustainable Operations and Infrastructure projects, and specific work experience with Federal and State clients is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with the design lead and project executive to direct the work of the entire project team in iteratively studying and developing design concepts.
  • Providing oversight of a project’s specifications and construction document development while engaging directly in more complex design, technical, code and entitlement issues.
  • Structuring project schedules, overall workplans, and daily workflow.
  • Negotiating and managing owner and subconsultant contracts and project financials.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients while representing the practice with integrity, creativity, and professionalism.
  • Using your network of personal relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and other professionals to benefit the practice and pursue new projects.
  • Presenting at external conferences to promote awareness of the practice’s work and expertise.
