Wizards of Wright! (WOW!) Project Manager
About The Position
FWI is building a team to deliver STEM outreach support services for the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Next-Gen Outreach Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. As the Wizards of Wright! (WOW!) Project Manager, you will serve as the lead for one of AFRL's flagship K-12 engagement programs, bringing real STEM professionals into Miami Valley classrooms to deliver hands-on science demonstrations that inspire the next generation of innovators. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a science field
- Minimum 3 years of functional area experience
- Active Ohio Teacher License required
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the WOW! project, ensuring alignment with Ohio Curriculum Standards and National STEM Standards
- Develop and update classroom presentations based on educator and mission needs
- Recruit, train, and maintain a database of WOW! volunteer presenters
- Coordinate, schedule, and follow up on classroom presentation requests
- Assemble, track, and maintain WOW! classroom materials and equipment (e.g., wind tunnels, thermal cameras)
- Provide two teacher in-service workshops annually during summer
