About The Position

Psomas is a 100% employee-owned firm seeking an experienced civil engineering leader to guide Public Works and Site Development projects across Southern California. As a Project Manager, you will be an owner contributing to the firm's sustained success and legacy. This position reports to the Downtown Los Angeles office, with flexibility to work from Riverside, Santa Clarita, or Orange County offices. You will lead a team of professionals through the full lifecycle of transformative projects, supporting educational, municipal, and other public sector clients. Requirements

  • Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 8+ years of relevant civil engineering experience
  • 1+ years demonstrated experience leading projects, teams, and client relationships
  • Experience working with Southern California educational institutions, public agencies, and municipalities

  • DBIA certification (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple site development and civil infrastructure projects from planning through construction; managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations while coordinating with agencies and external/internal teams.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff while fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment that supports professional growth.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted partner to educational and municipal clients, navigating Southern California agency coordination, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development of proposals in response to Requests for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQs/RFPs), support Design-Build competitions, and participate in presentations/workshops/interviews, collaborating closely with leadership and marketing.
