About The Position

Stronghold Engineering, Inc., an award-winning Electrical, General, and Civil Contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager in the Grand Canyon or Northern Arizona region. Under the direction of the COO and Vice President of General Construction, the Project Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, scheduling, and directing the daily details of projects. This includes project planning, scheduling, and documentation, as well as coordinating subcontractors and procuring materials. The Project Manager acts as a liaison between Stronghold Engineering, Inc. and personnel, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure projects are completed ahead of schedule and within budget.

Requirements

  • College Degree or related years of experience.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • 5+ years experience in managing civil projects.
  • Experience selecting and managing vendors.
  • Knowledge of construction and related management strategies.
  • Skilled at summarizing and analyzing information for budgeting revenues and expenses.
  • Ability to establish priorities and follow through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a productive manner independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Primavera and other project management software programs.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, specifications, construction cost data and other contract documents to identify any errors, omissions, code violations and design inadequacies.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Create and maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Process monthly billings by working with the Superintendent for each project to determine the percentage of work complete.
  • Manage projects effectively to ensure completion within budget and provide overall profitability for the company.
  • Ensure that submittals are submitted, received, corrected, approved, and returned in a timely manner.
  • Study and understand contract specifications, drawings, and associated scope of work requirements for each project before the project begins and during construction operations.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractor work in accordance with the contract schedule and monitor changes during the project to adjust deliveries and subcontractor work schedules as necessary.
  • Maintain organized documentation, specifications, estimates, submittals, and contract drawings for each project.
  • Utilize database, spreadsheet, and word-processing software to prepare statistical and written reports for management.
  • Analyze and prioritize information to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Oversee, motivate, and evaluate field employees; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Make recommendations and assist in the hiring process for field employees.
  • Make recommendations for termination of field employees as needed with HR.
  • Prepare letters, reports, and memorandums between Stronghold Engineering, Inc. and the government, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Act as a liaison and representative between Stronghold Engineering, Inc. and associated agencies or other Stronghold clients and their personnel.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in maintaining good customer and subcontractors’ relations.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent with proper communications between the field and the office.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to all Stronghold Engineering, Inc., local, state, and federal safety regulations at company job sites.
