Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA) is seeking a Project Manager to join their Life Science client in the San Francisco Bay Area. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the real estate design and construction industry, including large-scale Life Sciences and/or Mission Critical campus projects, with deep expertise in civil engineering and site development coordination and delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Real Estate Finance, or a related field.
  • Skills in managing successful projects and consistently meeting/exceeding client expectations and deadlines.
  • Competence in reviewing and evaluating qualitative program aspects with the owner and verifying program conformance with project goals.
  • Ability to establish partnerships and serve as a liaison between the client and design and construction professionals.
  • Ability to initiate and manage the procurement of design, construction, and consultant services.
  • Ability to draft, review, communicate, negotiate, and enforce contractual documents for design, construction, and consultant professionals.
  • Ability to consistently direct and monitor project budget and schedule, including updating and maintaining web-based project controls.
  • Ability to create meaningful analysis of budgets and schedules and their effect on the financial objectives of the project.
  • Ability to oversee and review the development of architectural and engineering construction drawings and bid documents.
  • Ability to effectively establish, direct, and/or document project meetings.
  • Ability to successfully engage with clients, city officials, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to present the project status and anticipate issues.
  • Ability to actively anticipate potential changes to the budget or schedule and provide solutions on the review and analysis of changes when presented.
  • Ability to organize and review value engineering alternatives with the owner.
  • Ability to determine requirements and facilitate procurement of peer reviews and specialty consultants.
  • Ability to motivate and direct internal resources (Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers), as required.
  • Ability to oversee the architect in their review of contractor and vendor onsite activities to verify they are in contractual compliance with design specifications, schedules, and workmanship standards.
  • Responsibility for authorizing the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, as well as developing and processing scheduled progress draw packages for payment.
  • Ability to observe and report on the construction process and construction-related issues.
  • Ability to manage the project close-out process to a successful completion.
  • Proactively seek out and represent PMA in networking and business development opportunities in addition to assisting PMA leadership in project proposals and subsequent interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with PMA clients and project teams through a successful process of strategic real estate planning, design, and construction of new buildings, tenant improvement buildouts, and facilities assignments.
