Requirements

Current ISA or CUA Certification and a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience leading trimming crews.
Herbicide applicator or operator’s certification and license as required by Wright Tree Service of Canada and local, provincial, and federal law.
Current Class 5 Driver’s license with less than 6 demerits.
Applicant must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Valid First-Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain.
Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboricultural techniques for the trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing, as applies to working in close proximity to energized conductors.
Knows and understands the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1-2000) and the American National Standards for Proper Pruning (ANSI A300).
Understanding of provincial and national occupational health and safety rules and guidelines.
Experience with computers focusing on Microsoft Office products.
Has a basic knowledge of electrical circuit and must be skilled in the reading and understanding of circuit maps.
Ability to communicate professionally, both verbal and in writing, with the general public, customers, and fellow employees.
Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, storm work) and will be subject to call-out work.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

Provide direction and support to team members, fostering collaboration and ensuring that everyone is working toward common objectives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the general foreperson, stakeholders, and clients, ensuring that communication is clear, timely, and transparent.
Assign tasks to team members based on their skills and expertise, ensuring efficient task completion.
Maintain and accuracy of all records and reports related to the performance of the crew’s operation.
Ensure the appropriate resources (personnel, materials, equipment) are available and allocated effectively throughout the project.
Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring costs remain within the agreed-upon limits.
Make critical decisions on behalf of the project, balancing time, cost, and quality requirements to keep the project moving forward.
Create plans to manage timelines, identified risks, and quality control.
Comply with applicable federal, provincial and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
