About The Position

HEPCO Inc. is seeking an accomplished Project Manager for our client to provide programmatic leadership for a mission-critical utility facility with extensive information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) system requirements. This position will lead multidisciplinary teams supporting customers both on-site and remotely. The Project Manager will oversee program delivery from planning and implementation through go-live and ongoing support, ensuring alignment with customer objectives, schedules, budgets, contractual commitments, and service-quality expectations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience supporting on-premises IT and OT systems, managing complex managed-services programs, leading hybrid teams, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Strong financial-management experience, including budgeting and forecasting, is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Professional project-management certification, which must be listed on the resume.
  • At least 10 years of IT or OT service-support experience, including substantial experience developing custom solutions and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • At least five years of leadership experience managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Extensive experience with on-premises IT and OT systems and services.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing team budgets, financial plans, and forecasts.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex programs, competing priorities, schedules, risks, staffing, stakeholder expectations, and customer communications.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, strategic-thinking, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining professionalism and a high level of energy.
  • Reliable personal transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with IT and OT technologies in a large electric-utility environment.
  • Experience supporting utility-industry customers and mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of program- and service-management processes, including ITIL, SPI, and earned value management (EVM).
  • Working knowledge of schedule management and the ability to interpret Gantt-chart data using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Experience managing hybrid teams composed of customer, contractor, and internal personnel.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex managed services on schedule and within budget.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into high-quality, customer-focused service solutions in partnership with program-management stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with IT/OT cybersecurity, change management, and operational risk-management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for a complex IT/OT managed-services program supporting a mission-critical utility environment.
  • Establish the program’s delivery strategy and ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer standards and contractual obligations.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of IT and OT professionals while promoting accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with customer program management, finance, contracts, procurement, and other stakeholders to support successful program delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Direct technical strategy and establish effective IT/OT service-management practices.
  • Support the planning, implementation, go-live transition, and ongoing operation of more than 60 systems.
  • Track multiple interdependent workstreams while following customer change-management processes and established business rhythms.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and correspondence promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with scheduling, procurement, and contracts teams regarding look-ahead planning, staffing requirements, schedule risks, and delivery needs.
  • Manage staffing levels to support schedule compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and deliver required weekly program reports.
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the systems being implemented.
  • Communicate proactively across technical teams, customer stakeholders, and internal departments to maintain strategic alignment.
  • Monitor relevant industry trends and incorporate appropriate technologies and methodologies.
  • Coordinate incident response, issue escalation, troubleshooting, root-cause discussions, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Adapt to changing business, customer, and management priorities and assume additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Travel throughout the client’s Long Island and Nassau County territory as required.
