About The Position

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building, and maintaining utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects nationwide. SDI Services, now part of SOLV Energy, specializes in solar pre-drill and pile foundation installation. This role is within SDI Services, focusing on managing day-to-day operations including construction, procurement, and contract changes for solar PV projects. The Project Manager will determine efficient and economical solutions for drilling pile installation, racking installation, module installation, quality control, and other SDI Services obligations. This position requires advanced techniques and analyses across multiple disciplines and projects simultaneously, and the individual will be a fully qualified professional proficient in current design and construction practices. Frequent travel to job sites is expected, and the role is located full-time on a jobsite.

Requirements

Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or equivalent experience
Field construction management experience (5-8 years, including supervisory skills)
Leadership ability
Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
Organizational and communication skills
Drafting and computer skills
Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement and estimating)

Responsibilities

Determine methods and solutions for managing day-to-day operations involving project management, construction, procurement, and contract changes.
Select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting objectives related to drilling pile installation, racking installation, module installation, quality control management, and any scope related to SDI Services obligation for solar PV projects.
Apply advanced techniques and analyses across multiple disciplines and multiple projects simultaneously.
Manage contract management, communication, reporting, schedule maintenance, budget maintenance, change management, risk management, document control, meetings, meeting minutes, lessons learned tracking, and project closeout.
Assist in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of projects.
Determine the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.
Obtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to other members of the project team.
Prepare reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
Prepare notices and change order documentation for the client and project management.
Determine and manage schedules and budgets for assigned project proposal and close outs, monitor progress and manage material logistics.
Interface with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate seamless coordination between the office and field.
Support the relationship with the customer at a professional and technical level, including supporting questions, evaluation requirements, and system design.
Set goals for field management, subcontractors, and vendors.
Motivate and manage field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to keep them on task.
Manage performance, productivity, and work quality of all field management, subcontractors, and vendors to complete projects on time.
Manage and coordinate the delivery of material and equipment to optimize job efficiency, ensure production is not impacted, or additional cost incurred.
Implement and enforce all company and contractual policies, safety standards, and installation best practices.
Attend site walks and pre-construction planning meetings.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
