We specialize in public works, water resources (including water and wastewater treatment plants), and site development, with expertise in underground utilities, roadway construction, and related civil infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of our Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) construction projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining full responsibility for safety, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction. Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience managing self-performed structural concrete work.
  • Demonstrated success managing project financial performance, budgets, forecasting, and profit and loss.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and project management principles.
  • Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6, Bluebeam, HCSS, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • High sense of urgency with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen and financial decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to coach, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Water and wastewater treatment plant construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects from planning and budgeting through final completion.
  • Develop and execute project plans that deliver successful outcomes while meeting safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • Lead Project Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and project teams with clear communication and accountability.
  • Maintain full profit-and-loss responsibility for assigned projects.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Monitor production, identify project risks, and implement strategies that improve profitability and operational performance.
  • Review change orders, subcontract agreements, procurement activities, and project financial reporting.
  • Foster a culture built on Accountability, Character, and Teamwork.
  • Mentor and develop Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field leadership.
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Operations, Accounting, and Executive Leadership to ensure project success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Anticipate challenges, resolve issues proactively, and protect Petticoat-Schmitt's interests throughout each project.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
