About The Position

We are a privately owned, employee-owned (ESOP) civil contracting firm based in Jacksonville, FL. We specialize in public works, water resources (including water and wastewater treatment plants), and site development, with expertise in underground utilities, roadway construction, and related civil infrastructure. We are seeking a Project Engineer to support our Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) division. This role is based out of Jacksonville, FL and supports projects throughout our service area. It is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in planning, preparation, and execution while contributing to complex infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in civil engineering or construction management.
  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment plant projects strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across field and office teams.
  • Ability to work in both office and active construction environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds, climb ladders or scaffolding, and safely navigate active jobsites.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Support project planning, preparation, and execution for water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
  • Assist with production planning, quantity tracking, and cost forecasting to support project efficiency and profitability.
  • Apply technical knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and logistics to support field operations.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to support project milestones and deliverables.
  • Serve as a technical resource to help solve field and coordination challenges.

  • Analyze project data and field feedback to identify risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Take ownership of your professional development while contributing to team success.
  • Support safe, compliant, and productive project execution.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and other project management tools for scheduling, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Support document control, submittals, RFIs, and project records.
  • Utilize construction management software to support project coordination and documentation.
