About The Position

STV currently has an opening for a Project Manager in the CM/PM group in the Tacoma, WA area. STV is looking for a Project Manager with experience working on public works, corrections/prisons/jails, or courthouses. The selected candidate will take on a role within our division, overseeing Capital Program Management and Owner's Representative tasks. This individual will act on behalf of the owner and associated stakeholder groups, becoming a key member of a high-performing team that leads the execution of projects and programs. The Project Manager will safeguard the owner's interests in overseeing design experts and contractors who are building prominent capital projects. In this capacity, the Project Manager will collaborate with senior management to steer the project team through all stages of the project lifecycle, including budgeting, planning, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, move management planning, and close-out services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large scale capital projects.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels internally and externally to establish credibility on project teams.
  • Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise.
  • Knowledge and ability to supervise people including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development.
  • High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management software and applications.
  • Ability to forecast project challenges and define solutions to maintain compliance with safety protocols, quality, schedule and budget.
  • Understanding of the unique needs of the judiciary and correctional facility construction projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Justice or Jail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the design, development, and construction of facilities related to the justice and correction industries.
  • Assisting the Senior Managers in leading the project team, goal setting, developing policies and procedures to guide the project/program and mentoring team members.
  • Manage staff, project financials and schedules.
  • Carry out duties as assigned to achieve the successful completion of the project/program.
  • Lead cross functional projects and initiatives with demanding resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Monitor design and construction activities to ensure that all phases of work are done in accordance with contractual agreements and corporate quality standards.
  • Define and assign project responsibilities to the Assistant Project Manager and Team.
  • Mentor team members to grow skill sets to foster a high performing project team.
  • Monitors, evaluates and or develops project financials, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates, as well as reviews purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
  • Forecast, identify and addresses areas of potential liabilities and risks.
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains project schedules.
  • Ensures that project objectives are met.
  • Maintains client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships.
  • Manages conflict resolution.
  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential concerns and persuades others, which may include executive leadership, to adopt positions to facilitate the successful conclusion of the project.
  • Assist in the evaluation, development, and selection of standards, protocols, policies and procedures to facilitate project success.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and instruction to less experienced team members and colleagues.
