About The Position

AAAS is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Project Manager to support the planning and execution of national initiatives that advance inclusion and opportunity in STEMM education and workforce. Reporting to the Deputy Director of CSEW, this Project Manager will play a central role in supporting cornerstone programs including the Project on Science, Technology and Disability, Entry Point!, and the ERN Students with Disabilities Working Group. Together, these initiatives support CSEW's mission to strengthen STEMM pathways and promote broader participation, particularly for students and people with disabilities, across the STEMM ecosystem. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of professional experience in program coordination OR an associate's degree and 6+ years of equivalent experience managing complex, multi-year projects with multiple priorities, partners, and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and partners.
  • Proven ability to track budgets, assess program impact, and manage deliverables.
  • Strategic thinker who can identify opportunities for process improvement and make sound recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solver with effective decision-making skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Skilled facilitator who excels in fostering discussion, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Support project budget tracking, including processing invoices and monitoring expenditures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including communications, to implement project components effectively.
  • Coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person events, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and technology setup.
  • Support and implement a communication strategy to share project information, resources, and outcomes through newsletters, blogs, social media, and reports.
  • Coordinate student recruitment efforts by updating and distributing outreach materials to disability service offices, faculty, and STEMM departments, and by hosting informational webinars for prospective applicants.
  • Contribute to the creation and distribution of project-related content, including evidence-based resources, event materials, and technical documentation.
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries in a timely and accurate manner to enhance community engagement and project visibility.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academic institutions, principal investigators, and vendors, to support project goals.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with Entry Point! Partners, including companies, government agencies, and university research programs, through outreach, informational webinars, and annual partnership agreements.
  • Support intern placements by matching student skills and interests to partner opportunities, facilitating accommodation coordination, and maintaining engagement with interns throughout and beyond the internship period.
  • Facilitate the development and engagement of virtual and in-person communities, including online platforms, webinars, and community discussions, to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Coordinate and host networking events, community conversations, and professional development opportunities that foster collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate multi-year projects, ensuring alignment with CSEW’s strategic goals and funder requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of detailed project work plans, timelines, and deliverables to keep projects on schedule and on target.
  • Monitor and evaluate project activities and outcomes using performance metrics, assessment tools, and stakeholder feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Manage the full Entry Point! application cycle, including maintaining recruitment materials, tracking student applications, and corresponding with applicants, partners, and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Make strategic recommendations related to project direction and implementation.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to ensure smooth project operations.
