About The Position

Milton CAT is looking for a Project Manager in the Power Systems Division. In this position, there will be training and transition time available to the successful candidate. This role will provide management of power generation projects from receipt of purchase through customer acceptance, which includes timely, cost-effective, and efficient management of multiple projects to meet customer expectations. This person will organize, schedule, coordinate, and effectively communicate to execute projects.

  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
  • Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Self-confidence to work well with various leadership levels (internal and external).
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel out of territory potentially 25-30% of the time. Majority of project sites are out of territory and will require multiple overnight stays for project deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications / drawings and compare them to the sales order that is submitted by the sales department.
  • Prepare technical submittal / drawing package for each project.
  • Order all Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar materials and equipment from suppliers, ensuring a timely release and delivery.
  • Manage the start-up process and documentation with contractors, engineers, customers, owners, utility companies, sales staff, and service technicians.
  • Coordinate delivery of equipment to job sites.
  • Monitor project costs and coordinate billing to initiate the invoicing process.
  • Perform on-site job review and attend construction meetings with contractors as needed.
  • Provide problem resolution with multiple parties, both technical and financial.
  • Maintain accuracy of all technical and financial aspects of each project to ensure gross profit levels are maintained.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 25 – 30% to project sites nationally for key milestones such as delivery, startup, and commissioning.
