The Major Projects team is responsible for realizing the company’s strategic development objectives, working across all organizational facets to define, execute, and manage scope, schedule, and budget for the company’s most critical projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • At least 7 years of experience with 3+ years in program or project management, with a focus on capital projects
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance
  • Willingness to travel to project locations both within and outside of the US

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • Experience with capital projects in the battery materials or other chemical process industries
  • Experience with project scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.)
  • Experience with Project Management Information Systems (PMISs, e.g., Kahua, PM Web, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project plans for a capital project within the context of the overall capital program, including defining project scope, schedule and budget
  • Allocation and managing company resources
  • Manage project budgets and track expenses to ensure that projects stay within budget
  • Use common project management tools such as Earned Value Management to forecast, identify and address project risks and opportunities as well as manage change over the project’s lifecycle
  • Coordinate with the Program Manager and other stakeholders, including internal and external teams to keep everyone informed of project progress and to resolve any issues that arise
  • Oversee general execution of specific projects within the capital program
  • Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities to ensure project success
  • Manage project changes and ensure that all changes are documented and approved by all relevant parties
  • Work with the Program Manager to Report on project progress to management and relevant project stakeholders
