The Major Projects team is responsible for realizing the company’s strategic development objectives, defining, executing, and managing scope, schedule, and budget for the company’s largest and most critical projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • At least 7 years of experience with 3+ years in program or project management, with a focus on capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
  • Willingness to travel to project locations both within and outside of the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with capital projects in the battery materials or other chemical process industries.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.)
  • Experience with Project Management Information Systems (PMISs, e.g., Kahua, PM Web, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project plans for a capital project within the context of the overall capital program, including defining project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Allocation and managing company resources.
  • Manage project budgets and track expenses to ensure that projects stay within budget.
  • Use common project management tools such as Earned Value Management to forecast, identify and address project risks and opportunities as well as manage change over the project’s lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with the Program Manager and other stakeholders, including internal and external teams to keep everyone informed of project progress and to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Oversee general execution of specific projects within the capital program.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities to ensure project success.
  • Manage project changes and ensure that all changes are documented and approved by all relevant parties.
  • Report on project progress to management and relevant project stakeholders.
