About The Position

Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), which now includes Project Management Advisors (PMA), is seeking a Project Manager to join our Healthcare team in New York. This is a hybrid role based in New York, NY. At Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), we lead the planning, development, and management of the places that shape and strengthen communities – where people live, learn, work, and heal. B&D partners with institutions, municipalities, and organizations to deliver complex real estate and capital projects through strategic advisory and program management services across the full project lifecycle. B&D recently joined forces with Project Management Advisors (PMA), bringing together two nationally recognized leaders in program management and real estate advisory services. Together, the combined firm offers expanded capabilities across industries and end-to-end project delivery – from early-stage strategy through design, construction, and occupancy. Our Healthcare team supports hospitals, medical centers, outpatient facilities, and healthcare systems in the planning, design, and construction of complex capital projects. We work closely with clients to deliver projects that enhance patient experiences, improve operational efficiency, and support evolving healthcare needs. As a Project Manager, you will work directly with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to manage planning, design, and construction activities for new facilities, renovations, and tenant improvement projects within healthcare environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management, development, or construction management experience, including at least 3 years supporting healthcare projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Real Estate, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects while consistently meeting client expectations, schedules, and budgets
  • Strong understanding of healthcare facility planning, design, and construction processes
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and reporting systems
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate architectural and engineering documentation
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across planning, design, and construction phases
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Experience supporting procurement, contract administration, and consultant management activities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and project teams throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Manage planning, design, and construction activities for healthcare facilities, including renovations, expansions, and new construction projects
  • Review and evaluate program requirements to ensure alignment with project goals and client objectives
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, schedules, and reporting tools to support successful project delivery
  • Analyze budget and schedule impacts and provide recommendations to support project financial objectives
  • Coordinate procurement of design, construction, and consultant services
  • Support contract development, negotiation, review, and administration for design and construction agreements
  • Oversee and review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes, and track action items
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and public agencies to communicate project status and proactively address issues
  • Evaluate potential budget and schedule changes and recommend solutions to mitigate project risks
  • Lead value engineering discussions and review alternatives with clients and project teams
  • Coordinate peer reviews and specialty consultants as required for project success
  • Provide guidance and oversight to Assistant Project Managers and other internal team members as needed
  • Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with contract requirements, design intent, schedules, and quality standards
  • Support the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and progress payment applications
  • Observe and report on construction progress, project risks, and field-related issues
  • Manage project closeout activities to ensure successful completion and turnover
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including networking, proposal development, and client presentations
