About The Position

Carotek, a SunSource company, provides process equipment solutions for the industrial, commercial and municipal markets. Carotek represents over 85 manufacturers as their process equipment distributor, representative, and repair center for pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, IIoT, steam, hydronics and municipal products. This role involves estimating, designing, and managing systems integration group projects and other custom industrial equipment projects from concept through build.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Knowledge, skill, and ability required for the role.
  • Ability to transport self to various facility sites as required.
  • If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid state driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards of the state.
  • Minimum one year project management or design experience.
  • One year in manufacturing or fabrication environment utilizing CAD modeling software.
  • Understanding of materials, control panel design, process flow and Piping & Instrument Diagrams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from a four-year College or University; or equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review and respond to client RFQs, including P&ID, PFDs, process descriptions, and equipment specifications.
  • Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) in accordance with client specifications.
  • Research and solicit component cost and availability.
  • Work with Electrical Systems staff to develop electrical scope of work.
  • Assess labor hours required for design and fabrication.
  • Develop total system cost and selling price and review with management.
  • Produce formal proposal to client including detailed descriptions of scope of work.
  • Review and verify acceptance of client order in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
  • Specify equipment through vendors in accordance with client specifications and submit for approval.
  • Produce Electrical Drawings with CAD modeling software.
  • Participate in design review meetings as required.
  • Submit drawings for approval to client and address changes upon request.
  • Submit Components for purchase to Purchasing Administrator.
  • Interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues.
  • Manage fabrication of project through close coordination with client, Shop Manager, Quality Manager and other staff.
  • Manage FAT Testing in accordance with client specifications.
  • Interact with client regarding scope, schedule and requesting of information as needed.
  • Interact with vendors regarding component selection, pricing and delivery.
  • Develop Installation, Operation and Maintenance manuals for project.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, quality, sales, production and accounting personnel.
  • Advise Manager of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in an effective, professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed, safe working conditions are maintained and safety procedures are followed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
