This job is responsible for managing cross-functional and/or inter-departmental projects for Line of Business products, processes, functions, and employee readiness. Key responsibilities of the job include partnering with the business to develop a plan to sustain change, evaluating current methods, and developing strategies to implement changes and project improvements. Job expectations include overseeing projects, using appropriate tools to drive project completion, and serving as a secondary point of contact to department managers for critical change initiatives. This job is responsible for the accurate, consistent, end-to-end capture of current-state operational workflows on behalf of the Horizontal Strategy team within Retail Credit Operations (RCO). Key responsibilities include documenting how data moves through operational processes, from upstream sources through downstream outputs, with full visibility into data provenance, decision points, and exception handling. The Operations Project Consultant functions as a procedural forensic accountant, producing a complete and faithful factual record of how a process operates. Job expectations include engaging directly with operational subject matter experts to understand their process while remaining resilient to the vocabulary of existing systems, ensuring every workflow is documented to a common standard of syntax and methodology. This role captures the "what" and the "how" of a process with completeness and accuracy, establishing the disciplined, data-focused foundation on which downstream normalization, capability alignment, and horizontal technology design depend. The role offers broad cross-functional exposure across multiple businesses, products, and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the execution of defined project tasks through tracking of deliverables and their statuses, developing project plans, and measuring progress against ongoing key performance indicators
  • Leads project and/or remediation requirement documentation efforts based on identified gaps and controls needed for sustained performance
  • Plans and organizes projects using appropriate tools and techniques, including Technology platforms used by client facing employees, change management tools, and risk and issue management tools to ensure efficient and effective project completion
  • Navigates across various Lines of Business and partner organizations, including Technology and Risk, leading them to negotiate decision making for efficient and effective resolution
  • Supports the adoption and sustainment of change initiatives and helps assess adoption risks
  • Develops, maintains, and reports on an overall integrated delivery plan, raising any risks, developing a mitigation plan, and escalating issues appropriately to respective stakeholders
