About The Position

Lead and oversee behavior and mental health focused activities from planning through implementation and in compliance with university policies and regulations, while leveraging LSSP expertise to coordinate resources, manage priorities, provide professional learning and coaching to educators, and maintain clear communication with funder and stakeholders.

Requirements

• LSSP with a bachelor's degree in school psychology or a related field
• Demonstrated experience implementing MTSS for behavior and mental health at school level
• Hands-on skills in behavioral assessment and intervention
• Proven project management experience
• Track record of designing and delivering effective professional learning and coaching for educators
• Skilled in using data to guide decisions and evaluate impact
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to collaborate effectively
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Nice To Haves

• Licensed LSSP with a doctoral degree in school psychology or a closely related field
• Extensive leadership experience implementing and scaling MTSS for behavior and mental health at the state level
• Advanced expertise in behavioral and psychoeducational assessment, data-based decision making, and design of evidence-based interventions
• Strong record of leading complex, multi-year projects and grants
• Substantial experience developing and delivering high-impact professional learning and ongoing coaching for educators and leaders
• Experience publishing or presenting on school mental health or MTSS
• Experience using rigorous evaluation methods to demonstrate outcomes
• Excel at strategic communication across projects

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, direct, and evaluate assigned behavior and mental health activities and plans with emphasis on time schedule control, coordination of project development, implementation, and communication.
• Apply LSSP expertise to ensure projects are grounded in evidence-based assessment and intervention practices that align with MTSS and support student academic, behavior, and mental health outcomes.
• Conduct face-to-face or virtual professional learning using TIER-created content and other evidence-based materials focused on behavior and mental health within an MTSS framework.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to statewide stakeholders on implementation of MTSS, including data-based decision making, progress monitoring, and tiered behavioral and mental health supports.
• Develop and manage project plans, change management processes, key milestones, communication mechanisms, and deliverables with project director and project team members, and other stakeholders.
• Integrate knowledge of school psychology, behavioral assessment, and mental health systems into project design, including alignment with MTSS, trauma-informed practices, and responsive approaches.
• Manage project implementation, including emergent issues, with emphasis on time schedule control to ensure all tasks are completed within established deadlines and budgets.
• Monitor fidelity of implementation for behavior and mental health initiatives, use data to identify barriers, and collaborate with districts, campuses, and other partners to adjust plans and supports as needed.
• Prepare detailed reports on project progress, barriers, and solutions, and comply with all university and department policies.
• Summarize behavioral and mental health outcomes, MTSS implementation data, and evaluation findings for a variety of audiences, including campus and district leaders, state partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively across teams with internal and external partners to support alignment across activities and support other projects.
• Contribute LSSP and MTSS expertise to cross-functional workgroups, product development, and continuous improvement efforts related to behavior and mental health.
• Other related functions as assigned, including participation in committees, workgroups, or special projects related to school mental health, behavior support, and MTSS implementation.
