About The Position

Cleveland Electric Company, a leading specialty contractor in the Atlanta market for almost 100 years, is seeking a Project Manager 1 (PM1) for an onsite role in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, with a transition to Augusta, GA in 2027. The PM1 is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies. This role involves collaboration with various departments, subcontractors, and customers, with a focus on risk mitigation and maintaining the company's reputation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3-5 Years of Experience in a Construction Project Management role
  • Ability to delegate tasks, motivate and give direction to team members.
  • Ability to collaborate with and gain the respect of field supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Involvement in preconstruction and project estimates, including fulfilling the Bid Captain role.
  • Procurement of project bonds and insurance requirements.
  • Manage the planning and execution of construction projects.
  • Manage the development of construction schedules and overall workflow, including the incorporation of activities from other departments (VDC/BIM, pre-fab, etc.).
  • Manage the development of project financial information including budgets, projections, billing, collections, cash management, invoice approval, etc.
  • Manage project change order creation, review, submission and negotiation.
  • Manage the solicitation of quotations, quotation review and purchasing.
  • Manage the review and compliance with project contracts.
  • Manage subcontract composition, negotiation and management of subcontractors.
  • Manage the permitting and inspection process.
  • Manage the tracking of labor and earned value tracking systems, rentals and material.
  • Responsible for project adherence to Cleveland policies, procedures and processes.
  • Involvement with incident reporting and investigations on projects as necessary.
  • Responsible for tracking project milestones, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring that the project remains on schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all required project documentation is prepared, reviewed and submitted in compliance with project documents and in accordance with Cleveland standards/best practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project documents are stored and accessible to appropriate parties in accordance with Cleveland standards/best practices.
  • Manage Cleveland standards with regard to project reporting (financial projections, labor tracking, cash management, etc.).
  • Direct and support field and project management personnel, helping to resolve issues and facilitate project progress.
  • Provide input during the VDC/BIM and pre-fab processes for constructability and to ensure that project budgets are not exceeded.
  • Monitor the construction activities of Cleveland and its subcontractors to ensure that work is being performed according to the project schedule and adheres to project quality standards.
  • Ensuring that the workforce has the necessary tools, equipment, and information to complete their tasks.
  • Provide dimensions, electrical support, interpretation of drawings and specifications and interpret National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements as necessary.
  • Ensure that QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) functions are in compliance with project and Cleveland quality standards and specifications.
  • Ensure safety functions are in compliance with company and project standards.
  • Facilitate/schedule jobsite meetings to ensure collaboration between project members/departments.
  • Promote collaboration and cohesion between project team members.
  • Attend jobsite coordination meetings and interact with other contractors and customers.
  • Accountable and responsible for overall project and/or project team performance, including financial performance.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with customer(s) with a goal of repeat business.
  • Manage risk mitigation plans as required.
  • Maintain Cleveland’s positive reputation in the industry and uphold Cleveland’s core values.
  • Undergo an annual performance review with their immediate supervisor and Group Manager (GM) or Vice President (VP).
  • Assess strengths, areas for improvement, and progress in achieving professional development goals during the review process.
  • Participate in multiple review sessions throughout the year to ensure ongoing communication, support, and opportunities for growth.
