About The Position

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is seeking a highly motivated leader with exceptional communication and project management skills to join our Region Three team. As a Project Manager (Engineering Manager I), you will steer vital transportation projects from initial planning through design, construction, and early maintenance. Requirements

• Active registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Utah.
• A minimum of two (2) years of professional engineering experience following your PE licensure.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and drive results with minimal direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated experience in roadway design.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, develop comprehensive task lists, and direct projects through their entire lifecycle-from planning and design through construction and the first year of maintenance.
• Deliver high-quality final products on time, within budget, and aligned with project scopes while maintaining a strict customer-focused approach.
• Lead and collaborate with diverse teams of technical specialists, fostering an environment of accountability and excellence.
• Proactively evaluate risks, resolve project issues, and maintain clear, timely communication with all stakeholders.
• Develop, negotiate, and administer engineering and construction contracts.
• Work closely with local governments to align projects with future regional developments and transportation needs.
