About The Position

Psomas is a 100% employee-owned firm seeking an experienced civil engineering leader to guide Public Works and Site Development projects that serve communities across Southern California. As a Project Manager, you will lead a team of talented professionals through the full lifecycle of transformative projects, supporting educational, municipal, and other public sector clients. The position reports to the Downtown Los Angeles office, with flexibility to work from other Southern California offices. Requirements

Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license
8+ years of relevant civil engineering experience
1+ years demonstrated experience leading projects, teams, and client relationships
Experience working with Southern California educational institutions, public agencies, and municipalities

Responsibilities

Lead multiple site development and civil infrastructure projects from planning through construction, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
Coordinate with agencies and external/internal teams.
Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment that supports professional growth.
Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted partner to educational and municipal clients.
Navigate Southern California agency coordination, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
Lead the development of proposals in response to RFQs/RFPs.
Support Design-Build competitions.
Participate in presentations, workshops, and interviews.
Collaborate closely with leadership and marketing on business development efforts.
