How You’ll Make an Impact As a Project Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in driving top-priority innovation projects within Lubrizol Performance Coatings, enabling sustainable growth and successful commercialization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Bachelor of Science preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading large, complex projects, preferably from innovation through commercialization.
  • At least 5 years of experience working within a global matrix organization.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of project management principles.
  • Proficiency with project management software, such as Microsoft Project.
  • Outstanding organizational, leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Change management mindset with the ability to bring clarity to ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional, matrix project teams accountable for innovation project results and adherence to Performance Coatings work processes.
  • Define expected business outcomes for each project, including value proposition, risk/return, and marketing plans covering positioning, placement, pricing, and promotion.
  • Plan, budget, execute, and document strategic innovation projects, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and cost objectives are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong project operating mechanisms, tools, and processes to improve execution effectiveness.
  • Create project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans to manage uncertainty and strategic change.
  • Evaluate and communicate risk and reward trade-offs impacting project objectives and deliverables.
  • Negotiate with resource managers and resolve resource constraints through independent decision-making.
  • Provide regular, clear communication to business and technical leadership on project status, milestones, schedules, and budgets.
  • Strengthen project management capability within Performance Coatings through coaching and continuous improvement.
