About The Position

RUSSCO, Inc. is a leading retail general contractor specializing in finishing commercial and retail interior space. Founded in 1952, RUSSCO has a long history in retail and commercial construction for numerous well-known clients. Based in Fall River, Massachusetts, RUSSCO performs work in over 35 states. The company is known for its genuine customer service and hands-on approach. The Project Manager will report to the Director of Project Management and will be responsible for supporting clients directly through all phases of construction. This role involves direct communication with clients, subcontractors, and office staff, and ensuring work is executed to the highest standard and remains on schedule. The Project Manager will also promote RUSSCO's interests in all project matters.

Requirements

  • Understanding of construction means and methods for renovation and construction of retail/interior buildings and related site-work.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and other software used in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and establish effective working relationships with on-site staff, promoting positive project morale.
  • Collaborate with the Bid and Estimating team to find subcontractors prior to construction.
  • Work with the office team and Assistant Project Manager(s) to provide subcontractor information and scope of work for legal contracts.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the General Contract, subcontracts, contract drawings, specifications, and addenda.
  • Assist in the development of on-site procedures.
  • Develop and refine the Project Schedule, keep it updated, and ensure the job meets required dates.
  • Plan and review the Construction Program, including quality control, safety, field office setup, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, and manpower.
  • Oversee jobs to ensure work is on schedule.
  • Meet with clients for on-site walkthroughs.
  • Lead and participate in internal team and external client conference calls.
  • Communicate challenges and successes to Leadership, Clients, and office staff as necessary.
  • Create, communicate, and submit legal documents to building departments and inspectors.
  • Maintain good relations and communications with all project stakeholders, including the public.
