About The Position

Hill International is seeking a Project Manager in Los Angeles, California. This role involves coordinating architects/engineers, contractors, and their respective contracts, while managing the project schedule and budget. The Project Manager will review project documents, evaluate completeness for design and construction phases, and manage project quality to ensure successful completion on time and within budget. A key responsibility is to develop strategies for coordinating the requirements of all interested parties, analyze requested changes, and manage the change process. The role also includes overseeing plan and project coordination efforts, monitoring contractor schedules, preparing overall project schedules, coordinating communications, preparing daily field reports and weekly summaries, documenting site personnel and progress, preparing and monitoring punch lists, initiating on-site project meetings, and conducting job site meetings to improve communication and reduce interferences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing project cost/budget, scope, schedule, and resources, managing vendors, and overseeing formal planning, tracking, and reporting project performance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or program management role
  • Knowledge of local and national building codes, ADA requirements and familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety requirements on construction projects

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Architect/Engineers, contractors and respective contracts
  • Coordinate schedule and budget information and must be able to identify when the need to intervene arises
  • Review project documents (drawings, specifications, RFI’s, schedules, etc.) and evaluate the completeness for the respective phase of design and/or construction
  • Manage the quality of the project(s) and manage facility to ensure successful completion as it relates to “on time” and within budget
  • Familiarize and develop a strategy to coordinate the requirements/needs of all interested parties
  • Analyze requested changes and to manage the change process
  • Plan and project coordination efforts
  • Monitor the contractor’s schedule
  • Prepare overall project schedule to measure contractor’s schedule performance
  • Coordinate communications between contractor, client, site personnel, and consulting engineers
  • Prepare a daily field report and weekly summaries
  • Document the number of contractor’s personnel on site, work accomplished and key issues
  • Prepare punch list(s) and monitor completion by the contractor(s)
  • Initiate on site project meetings as needed
  • Conduct meetings at the job site to improve project communications and reduce interferences
