About The Position

The Healthcare Construction Project Manager leads major construction and renovation projects across Altru facilities, managing all phases from concept through occupancy for all projects, with some projects exceeding $10 million. The role oversees design, budgeting, scheduling, and construction execution while coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, and facility stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational needs. This position monitors project costs, provides regular status updates to Plant & Facilities leadership, and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Project Manager also contributes to long‑term facility planning and represents the organization in project meetings.

Requirements

  • Associates - Related Field
  • A minimum of 3 years Related Experience
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
  • Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record
  • Driver's License - Current State Licensed

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages multiple healthcare construction and renovation projects across Altru facilities, assuming full accountability for scope, quality, schedule, and budget for all project, with some projects exceeding $10 million, from concept through occupancy.
  • Plans, coordinates, and oversees all phases of design and construction, including facility programming, budgeting, cost estimating, consultant selection, contract administration, construction execution, and closeout.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between consultants, contractors, hospital administrators, Plant & Facilities leadership, and facility user groups to ensure timely communication, issue resolution, and alignment with operational needs.
  • Coordinates architects, engineers, construction managers, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitors project costs, reviews and approves invoices, and provides regular construction and budget status reports to the Plant & Facilities Director.
  • Leads construction risk assessments and ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements, including Joint Commission, Medicare/Medicaid, OSHA, and other governing authorities.
  • Supports strategic facility planning, future development, and major regional renovations by providing consultative expertise and representing the organization at project meetings, including evenings or nights as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
