About The Position

The Project Manager role at Hamlin is crucial for ensuring project success through effective process management, customer satisfaction, on-time in-full (OTIF) delivery, and clear communication. This role involves creating orders based on job specifications, facilitating quality checks, prioritizing customer needs, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and timeliness. The Project Manager will actively monitor job progress, anticipate potential issues like weather or delays, manage subcontractor preferences, and ensure timely material delivery. A key aspect is maintaining open and clear communication with contractors, informing them of expectations and any changes that may affect the job. This role also requires keeping internal teams, including the Branch Manager, Sales, and General Contractors (GCs), informed of project status and any significant issues.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Project Management Processes to create orders for jobs using spec sheets, checklists, and critical thinking.
  • Facilitate a QC (quality check) to ensure material is ordered and sent accurately to the job site.
  • Prioritize customer orders to ensure material is sent to the job site when the customer expects it.
  • Demonstrate a relentless obsession with improving accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor job progress, including weather patterns, delays, or productivity.
  • Manage subcontractor preferences and scheduling.
  • Share information on how material was figured.
  • Schedule deliveries to align with job site progress.
  • Create orders with sufficient lead time for yard response and product arrival.
  • Notify purchasing of out-of-stock items or high-volume needs.
  • Communicate clearly and quickly with contractors regarding expectations and requirements for job success.
  • Respond promptly to questions.
  • Notify relevant parties of changes to set new expectations.
  • Keep Branch Manager, Sales, and GC informed of pressing issues or changes.
