Position Summary As we grow toward our vision to be the recognized leader in electrical contracting, the VDV / Low Voltage Project Manager is a foundational role that will shape the future of our Low Voltage Division. This position leads structured cabling, fiber optic, and security infrastructure projects across federal markets including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Defense (DOD), and Department of Energy (DOE). This leader delivers safe, smart, and reliable solutions through technical expertise, quality execution, and strong relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with USACE, DOD, DOE, or other federal facilities.
  • Ability to manage complex schedules, subcontractors, and field crews while maintaining a focus on safety and quality.
  • Strong understanding of telecom drawings, SOW’s, specifications, and commissioning workflows.
  • Experience with SCIFs, PDS, or restricted access facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling, Fiber Optics, CCTV, and Security.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit for telecom layouts or pathways.
  • Experience training or mentoring technicians, supporting development and building stronger teams.
  • RCDD certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day execution of low‑voltage and telecom infrastructure projects on federal sites, ensuring safe operations and adherence to federal access requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, installation sequencing, and production targets with an emphasis on ingenuity and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with GCs, federal representatives, internal teams, and subcontractors through clear, honest communication that builds strong relationships.
  • Conduct site walks to verify workmanship, cable management, labeling, testing, and documentation, upholding IME’s standards of craftsmanship.
  • Manage change orders, scopes of work, cost control, and project documentation with full ownership and integrity.
  • Interpret USACE/DOD/DOE design criteria, telecommunications standards, and project specifications.
  • Support design‑build development: riser diagrams, device layouts, pathways, labeling plans, and telecom room build‑outs.
  • Lead design reviews, submittal preparation, and responses to RFIs.
  • Provide technical mentorship to field teams, ensuring installations meet IME’s expectations for craftsmanship and long‑term performance.
  • Perform material takeoffs, labor projections, BOM creation, and value‑engineered options for structured cabling and security infrastructure.
  • Contribute to RFP/RFQ responses with clear narratives, design intent, and pricing notes reflecting IME’s transparency and accountability.
  • Coordinate vendor pricing, long‑lead materials, logistics, and material readiness to support predictable, reliable project delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain QC documents, test results, labeling standards, as‑builts, and turnover packages aligned with federal criteria.
  • Ensure installations comply with BICSI/TIA requirements and all applicable USACE/DOD/DOE telecom standards.
  • Partner with CORs, COs, and QA/QC representatives during inspections with a focus on Safety, clear communication, and long‑term relationship building.
