Requirements

  • Knowledge of various network and security system construction through the completion of a four–year low voltage apprentice program or a combination of education and experience within the industry.
  • Strong management skills.
  • Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated financial analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years’ experience in a project management position in industry
  • Low Voltage apprenticeship, tech installer, project foremen/ general foremen, mentorship
  • Estimator/Project supervisor or other electrical trade experience
  • BICSI/RCDD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the construction process efforts for assigned project(s) to ensure the success is aligned with the budget, schedule, and is constructible.
  • Obtaining new work and sustaining work.
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals.
  • Attending job walks.
  • Developing customer base.
  • Meeting with customers to identify needs and scopes of projects.
  • Managing multiple sales pursuits and projects simultaneously.
  • Full scope of each contract from proposal to closeout.
  • Reading and understanding the limits to the required scope of work.
  • Determining the pricing for the job and estimating the job.
  • Knowing and understanding all terms of the contract.
  • Attending all required job meetings with GC/owner/sub-contractors and internal team members as required.
  • Using appropriate tools for scheduling manpower to meet needs of current jobs.
  • Evaluating manpower needs using the cost to complete, job cost tracking report, and the project schedule.
  • Analyzing how we are doing against estimate, use to predict manpower needs for job.
  • Tracking labor by phases and accurately reporting labor on the Cost to Complete.
  • Knowing and understanding budget/preparing job cost tracking reports.
  • Including change orders if possible.
  • Anticipating & including materials, equipment in the billings which are on the job but not invoiced by the supplier at the time of billing.
  • Ensuring prompt billings to create positive cash flow by working with Project Administrator and other support personnel.
  • Ensuring billings are accurate and within customer specifications.
  • Following up on payments where collections may apply.
  • Following established process to ensure timecards are reviewed and submitted for weekly payroll.
  • Ensuring field leaders have approved all timecards.
  • Regularly reviewing and analyzing the cost to complete and WIPs.
  • Walking the job, discussing production forecasts and results with field leaders.
  • Updating estimated hours and costs monthly.
  • Coordinating/assigning responsibilities for change proposals.
  • Working with the field leaders and office support personnel for proposals, scope of work definitions and clarity.
  • Reviewing proposals for proper pricing and presentation.
  • Turning in change order pricing timely (based on contract time frame) and within customer constraints.
  • Reviewing log of changes at least monthly.
  • Taking necessary action.
  • In special cases and in coordination with PA, following up for billing and payment.
  • Helping PA obtain budgets for accounting.
  • Analyzing the total change order amount verses the original contract amount.
  • Reviewing and submitting O&Ms.
  • Assuring record drawings are complete, accurate, and submitted as early as possible.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
