About The Position

We are seeking a Project Manager, Utilities to join our team in Rochester NY or Binghamton, NY. Your role involves effective leadership in a matrix organization, encompassing the initiation, planning, execution, and closing of projects. This includes defining the project WBS, Cost Baseline, and OBS structure, building comprehensive work plans, and managing risks, scope, schedule, and budget. You will also be responsible for managing teams, facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles, and implementing and managing quality and environmental processes and procedures on all projects, focusing on meeting SPI and CPI performance indicators less than 1.0. The role also includes the management of third-party projects with other transmission owners and interconnecting customers. Key accountabilities include Cost/Budgeting and Management, Communication Management, Change Management, Schedule Management, Construction Management Oversight, Commissioning Management Oversight, and Risk Management.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years in large scale projects Program Management for Utility business
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the functional area under which it will be contracted: Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro and OSG.

  • Professional Engineer License and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (under Client approval)
  • Project Management Professional or Program Management Professional
