About The Position

As part of UT Dell Medical School's transformation into a world-class academic health enterprise, we are launching an Enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) transformation centered on Workday, beginning in Fall 2026. To support this approximately 18-month implementation, we are recruiting both permanent and project-based HR and technology professionals who will help design, implement, and optimize Workday. This is a unique opportunity to build the foundational HR technology platform that will support the future University of Texas Dell Medical Center and the broader academic health enterprise. This is a fixed-term position with an anticipated end date of September 30, 2027. The position may be eligible for extension beyond the anticipated end date based on continued business or program needs, funding availability, and satisfactory work performance. Any extension is contingent upon applicable review and approval and is not guaranteed. The Technical Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and successful delivery of cross-functional technical projects supporting strategic and operational initiatives across the healthcare system. This role partners with IT teams, clinical informatics, business analysts, operational leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure technical projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality and compliance standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing technical projects in a healthcare or enterprise IT environment.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Experience collaborating with technical, operational, and business stakeholders on cross-functional projects.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare IT project management.
  • Experience with EHR systems, cloud platforms, or enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) – PMI.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe Agilist.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
