About The Position

Oversees technical initiatives with cross-departmental or enterprise-wide applicability. Works with potential customers to understand their requirements. Proposes technical solutions, gathers information for estimates, manages vendor relations, and coordinates project from proposal stage through installation. Assumes responsibility for success of specific technology deployment at Emory. Prepares and analyzes statistical reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules for management; prepares reports on actual and budgeted financial information; works with management to develop assumptions and historical costs; projects impact of new programs or projects. Negotiates new and renewal service contracts; reviews provisions and resolves any questions with the vendors to ensure that service contracts meet the organization's requirements. Works with architects, department heads, facility management and others as necessary on initial consultation, cost projections, project design, and approvals. Coordinates entire planning and execution of project, with external and internal groups, from the smallest details through reviews, changes and monitoring of progress to project completion and evaluation. Stays abreast of future trends in technology; reads technical periodicals and publications, consults with manufacturers and vendors, attends trade shows and seminars, tests equipment, etc. and makes recommendations. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Collects, organizes, and analyzes data to generate and provide accurate and complete reports for management. Coordinates the preparation and processing of employee information, human resources action forms, job descriptions, employment requisitions, and other required paperwork for the department. Creates, implements, and maintains database for standards, and procedures related to technical and business requirements. Facilitates teams and work groups review or implementation of any necessary changes in ITD standards, policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of experience in implementing technical requirements to support business applications; OR a Bachelor's Degree and six (6) years of experience; or a Master's Degree and five (5) years of experience.
  • Internal candidates with relevant certifications &/or successful graduation from an Emory sponsored development program may be considered with references and demonstrated mastery of project management, specifically with technical projects &/or system implementations for a minimum of five (5) years.
