About The Position

Steampunk is seeking a creative and hands-on Project Manager with expertise in delivering innovative technology solutions. This role involves leading teams through the full lifecycle of solution development and delivery, providing Agile Project Management and Scrum Master support to Agile teams. Key responsibilities include collaborating with product owners and stakeholders on backlog prioritization, developing release schedules and roadmaps, and establishing technical practices and release management standards aligned with customer processes. The individual will also ensure Agile scrum processes are followed effectively and drive high client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience
  • 5+ years managing IT projects using agile methodologies and approaches
  • 5+ year experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a complex engineering environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a studio / human centered design approach
  • PMP and Scrum Master certification

Responsibilities

  • Leading project tasking and delivery in a government client consulting environment.
  • Serving as a client liaison, team coach, and mentor.
  • Managing and maintaining successful client relationships and identifying new opportunities with existing clients.
  • Developing and driving high-level strategic initiatives.
  • Managing remote project delivery teams.
  • Facilitating technical discussions to troubleshoot project implementation issues.
  • Assessing current organization and delivery environments and recommending optimal Agile practices.
  • Providing Agile Scrum Master support, attending Agile ceremonies, and providing input.
  • Removing blockers to ensure project success.
  • Coaching the Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization.
  • Handling challenging client situations and offering technical and business guidance to client executives.
  • Leading and managing staff, and monitoring staff performance.
  • Evaluating project feasibility, eliminating non-productive tasking, and finding creative ways to ensure or accelerate project delivery.
  • Assisting staff with training needs for skills expansion and career advancement.
