About The Position

Steampunk is seeking a creative and hands-on Project Manager who is an expert in delivering innovative technology solutions. This role involves team leadership for the complete life cycle of solution development and delivery, providing Agile Project Management and Scrum Master support for Agile teams. The Project Manager will coordinate with product owners and stakeholders on backlog prioritization, create release schedules and roadmaps, and establish technical practices and release management standards aligned with customer processes. The individual will ensure the team effectively follows Agile scrum processes and drives high client satisfaction. In this government client consulting environment, the Project Manager will lead project tasking and delivery, acting as a client liaison, team coach, and mentor.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience
  • 5+ years managing IT projects using agile methodologies and approaches
  • 5+ year experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a complex engineering environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a studio / human centered design approach
  • PMP and Scrum Master certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide team leadership for the complete life cycle of solution development and delivery
  • Provide Agile Project Management support and Scrum Master support for Agile teams
  • Coordinate with product owners and stakeholders on prioritizing the backlog
  • Create release schedules and roadmaps based on assessment recommendations
  • Establish technical practices and release management standards that align with the customer's process
  • Ensure the team is following, and effective at, Agile scrum processes
  • Drive high client satisfaction
  • Lead the project tasking and delivery in a government client consulting environment
  • Act as a client liaison, team coach, and mentor
  • Manage and maintain successful/results-oriented relationships with the client, as well as identify and pursue new opportunities with existing client
  • Develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, manage remote project delivery team, and possess the ability to facilitate technical discussions to troubleshoot project implementation issues
  • Assess the current organization and delivery environment and recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client
  • Provide the Agile Scrum Master support
  • Attend Agile ceremonies and provide input as needed
  • Remove blockers to ensure project success
  • Coach the Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization
  • Handle challenging client situations and offer technical and business guidance and direction to client executives
  • Lead and manage staff, monitor staff performance
  • Evaluate project feasibility, eliminate non-productive tasking, and find creative ways to ensure project delivery and if feasible accelerate delivery
