About The Position

The Project Manager/Scrum Master will join a small, collaborative team that uses agile practices to deliver value to business partners. The team is responsible for business intelligence and analytics, a data lake platform, master data management, data integration and conversion, data quality, data architecture and modeling, data literacy, and data governance. The role supports the organization’s aim to become more data-literate and data-driven and requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to identify innovative solutions. The position requires strong technical knowledge of data management and experience managing multiple scrum boards for project work and operations. The role leads multiple agile teams, monitors progress and work quality, supports and develops team members, removes roadblocks, and communicates status and risks. Work can be performed 100% remotely within Wisconsin; applicants must be Wisconsin residents, and relocation is not allowed. The assignment is listed through June 30, 2027, and is likely to extend. The interview process may include two rounds.

Requirements

Strong technical knowledge and sufficient technical experience in data management and analytics.
Experience managing multiple scrum boards for project work and operations.
Experience leading multiple agile teams using Scrum/agile methodologies, including business intelligence and data warehousing teams.
Knowledge of agile and traditional project management principles and practices, with the ability to blend them appropriately.
Experience developing teams, ensuring accountability for commitments, removing roadblocks, improving team capacity, and mentoring and developing team members.
Experience directing and monitoring daily work, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews, and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues.
Ability to evaluate complex project risks, issues, and roadblocks.
Experience managing team progress and status through JIRA.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence others and interact with individuals at all levels.
Ability to work productively with cross-functional working groups and across organizational layers.
Strong skills in mentoring, coaching, collaboration, and team building.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Understanding of business needs and ability to establish and maintain customer trust and confidence.
Experience with agile project management tools such as Jira or equivalent.
Must be a Wisconsin resident; relocation is not allowed.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the employer is unable to sponsor at this time.

Preferred experience implementing SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).

Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple agile teams using Scrum and other agile methodologies, including teams working in business intelligence and data warehousing.
Manage multiple scrum boards covering project and operational work.
Apply and blend agile and traditional project management principles to fit project and business needs.
Develop teams, hold them accountable for commitments, remove roadblocks, leverage organizational resources to improve capacity, and mentor team members.
Direct and monitor daily work efforts, identify resource needs, conduct quality reviews, and appropriately escalate functional, quality, and timeline issues.
Provide credible leadership to technical teams and objectively evaluate complex project risks, issues, and roadblocks.
Track team progress and status through JIRA.
Work productively with cross-functional working groups and across organizational layers; influence and communicate with people at all levels.
Develop and deliver presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Understand business needs and maintain customer trust and confidence.
