About The Position

FGMA is looking for a Project Manager who is inspired by work that makes a real impact. Our Public Safety team designs mission critical facilities for police, fire, EMS, and emergency operations organizations. These spaces support the people who protect our communities, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our Public Safety practice is one of FGMA’s most established and respected practice areas. As a Project Manager, you will guide clients through planning, design, and construction of facilities that help first responders operate efficiently and return home safely. These projects are deeply technical, highly collaborative, and rooted in service to others.

Requirements

  • Licensed Architect preferred
  • Experience managing complex civic or public safety projects
  • Skill in leading teams, coordinating consultants, and guiding clients
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • A commitment to quality work and a collaborative culture

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of public safety projects including design, documentation, and construction
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, schedules, and staffing
  • Provide clear direction to project teams and ensure timely, high quality deliverables
  • Lead programming and planning discussions
  • Guide technical and operational decisions throughout the project
  • Review documents for quality, accuracy, and alignment with client needs
  • Serve as the day to day point of contact for police, fire, and municipal leaders
  • Support informed decision making through clear communication and strong presentations
  • Represent FGMA in client meetings, interviews, and community sessions
  • Coordinate architecture, engineering, technology, and specialty systems partners
  • Facilitate communication across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure alignment on project priorities, standards, and goals
  • Support the development of project architects and emerging professionals
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities
  • Help build strong internal teams rooted in collaboration and trust
