The Work You manage the planning and development phase of school modernization projects for LAUSD from inception through design and into construction bidding. You're the point person coordinating across multiple stakeholders: LAUSD staff, architects, engineers, utility companies, federal and state agencies, and internal LAUSD leadership. This is complex project management on large-scale capital projects. You oversee pre-construction and project development, manage budgets, track schedules, and ensure projects stay within scope and the original approved definition. You resolve disputes between design teams and LAUSD requirements. You're writing status reports to upper management, coordinating with public agencies on environmental and state requirements, and keeping projects moving through design and into bid. The work is about organization, communication, and problem-solving. You're managing multiple concurrent projects, many in different phases. Some are in early planning; others are deep in design. You need to think several steps ahead, anticipate problems, and coordinate across departments that don't all report to the same person. This is steady, consequential work: the projects you manage will be built and will serve students for 50+ years.
