About The Position

This role is for a Project Manager (Pharma Construction) Consultant responsible for leading capital projects from initiation through completion. The position involves managing construction, equipment installation, facility upgrades, and manufacturing process improvements within a pharmaceutical context. The Project Manager will develop detailed project plans, coordinate with various internal teams and external vendors, manage budgets and forecasts, oversee construction activities, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company standards. Additionally, the role requires strong reporting capabilities, support for validation and compliance activities, and the ability to work onsite a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting construction, engineering, manufacturing, or facility-related projects.
  • Strong construction management background with experience overseeing contractors and vendors.
  • Experience developing project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated experience with budget development, forecasting, cost tracking, and project reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Ability to work onsite a minimum of four (4) days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other GMP-regulated industry experience.
  • Experience supporting filling, packaging, inspection, manufacturing, utilities, or facility projects.
  • Understanding of commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) principles.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and capital project governance processes.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects from initiation through completion, including construction, equipment installation, facility upgrades, and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules using Microsoft Project, including task dependencies, critical path activities, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate project activities across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Validation, Maintenance, Construction, and external vendors.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking tools.
  • Monitor project expenditures and provide accurate forecasting of project costs and timelines.
  • Track and manage project changes, scope modifications, and budget impacts.
  • Provide regular financial updates and reporting to project stakeholders and leadership.
  • Lead contractor and vendor meetings to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure work is completed according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and safety requirements.
  • Perform routine field oversight and follow-up to verify work completion and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate issue resolution between contractors, vendors, engineering teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and company standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date project status reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Facilitate project team meetings and drive accountability for action items and deliverables.
  • Utilize project management tools and systems effectively to maintain project documentation and transparency.
  • Understand the impact of construction and equipment modifications on validated systems.
  • Partner with Validation and Quality teams to ensure projects maintain compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities as required.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with quality, safety, and regulatory expectations.
