About The Position

We’re looking for a Project Manager, Permitting to join our Project Delivery team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing projects and ensuring continuity in the absence of the Senior Project Manager (SPM). You’ll work closely with clients, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and internal teams to facilitate all aspects of permitting, maintain accurate project records, and deliver high-quality outcomes on time. This role will support projects throughout the Long Island region and requires the ability to travel to local municipalities and AHJs as needed.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in the construction or permitting industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, urban planning, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Long Island municipalities and AHJs as required.
  • Experience working with municipal permitting processes and requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Long Island permitting processes and local AHJs.
  • Experience with new building and construction projects.
  • Familiarity with client-facing consulting roles.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as backup to the Senior Project Manager, tracking project milestones, filings, permits, approvals, and occupancy updates.
  • Manage projects end-to-end, ensuring quality control, timely deliverables, and accurate records.
  • Review new projects, gather required information, and prepare municipality applications (filings, permits, objections, variances).
  • Facilitate team communication and provide guidance or training to personnel.
  • Make timely decisions and solve problems while maintaining strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Attend city/jurisdictional meetings, understand regulations, and represent the company professionally.
  • Collaborate with design/development teams and interpret plans, maps, and construction documents.
  • Assist with project-related accounting, billing, and reporting.
  • Travel as needed to Long Island municipalities and AHJs for in-person submissions, meetings, follow-ups, and other project needs.
  • Develop strategies and solutions with supervisor for project challenges or issues.
