Project Manager, Office of CFO

MongoDBAustin, TX
Onsite

About The Position

The Office of the CFO at MongoDB is a small, high-impact team that drives operational excellence and strategic execution across the FinOps organization. We manage the operating rhythm for FinOps leadership, track performance against annual objectives, and serve as the connective tissue between Finance and the rest of the business. As a Project Manager, Office of the CFO, you will be part of the operational backbone of this team. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CFO, you will drive content development for leadership meetings and presentations, manage cross-functional projects, and keep the FinOps organization running on rhythm. You will be in the room for key leadership discussions and will have regular exposure to MongoDB's CFO and his direct reports. This role is ideal for someone who is execution-oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments with competing priorities, and takes pride in turning ambiguity into structure. You don't need to have all the answers — but you need to be the kind of person who figures things out, moves fast, and never drops a ball. This role is based in MongoDB's Austin, TX office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations, FP&A, strategic finance, or a similar role in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong program management instincts — you are highly organized and can juggle multiple workstreams simultaneously, keep things moving, and hold people accountable without formal authority
  • Excellent communication & executive presence — your emails are crisp, your follow-ups are clear, and your documents are polished; you’re also able to interact with senior leadership, “manage up” effectively, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • High adaptability and low ego — you're excited to work on a high-visibility strategic initiative in the morning and build a project tracker in the afternoon. No task is beneath you if it helps the team win
  • Exceptional content development skills — you can build a clear, compelling, executive-ready deck from scratch. You think in structure and narrative, not just bullet points
  • Highly trustworthy — you understand the need to exercise discretion when working on confidential projects
  • Financial fluency — you don't need to be a CPA, but you're comfortable operating inside a finance organization and working with financial concepts, KPIs, and business metrics
