The Project Manager – Mining is a hands-on role that focuses on solving problems onsite at various mining client projects across Alaska. Role responsibilities include collaborating with in-office staff, clients, and contractors at the mine site(s). The Project Manager- Mining engages in all levels of project delivery, from client engagement, working collaboratively with stakeholders and technical experts in order to deliver innovative, technical, and value-added solutions within set schedules and budgets; development of budgets, schedules and reports; coordination of project staff and sub-contractors to ensure safe, cost effective, efficient, and timely completion of work in order to meet and/or exceed client expectation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
5+ years of progressively responsible work experience
Exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally
Strong skills in mining methods, engineering, and planning
Competence in project planning, scheduling, and execution
Solid financial, commercial, and contractual acumen
Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience managing medium to large teams
Understanding of risk management and incident investigation principles
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineering license or Project Management Professional certification is preferred

Responsibilities

Support senior leadership with business development activities and help strengthen client relationships
Collaborate cross-functionally to successfully manage and execute a variety of projects
Build and maintain strong professional working relationships internally and externally
Provide leadership (directly and indirectly) to a variety of staff on assigned projects
Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and high personal safety standards
Travel, day and overnight, is needed to ensure client and project satisfaction. May include remote destinations in the Alaskan wilderness. Must have ability to travel utilizing a variety of transportation modes including small engine aircraft, ATVs, etc.
