About The Position

The Marketing & Communication Project Manager leads the planning, coordination and execution of high-impact communications initiatives that advance the agency’s mission to drive economic growth across the state. This role ensures strategic alignment, operational efficiency and on-time delivery of integrated communication campaigns, executive communications, stakeholder outreach and cross-agency initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and brings both structure and flexibility to complex, multi-stakeholder projects. This is a critical and strategic operations role within Marketing & Communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public administration, political science, business or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in program management, marketing, communication, public sector or agency environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday, Asana, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work within a quickly evolving environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline and metric driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end execution of integrated communications campaigns, from intake through delivery.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines and budgets (if applicable).
  • Ensure alignment between communications initiatives and agency-wide strategic priorities.
  • Identify bottlenecks and proactively drive solutions.
  • Serve as the central liaison between the MarComms team, internal clients and external communications partners.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental and cross-agency collaboration and accountability.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings, status updates and post-project debriefs.
  • Own and continuously improve department workflows, intake systems and tracking tools.
  • Manage project management software and reporting dashboards.
  • Establish clear prioritization frameworks for competing requests.
  • Ensure transparency in workload capacity and deadlines.
  • Support and maintain appropriate discretion regarding high-visibility initiatives such as major announcements, trade missions, events, legislative communication and economic development campaigns.
  • Maintain internal and external resources required for project asset delivery, repository, and archive purposes.
